Step 3: Give your blog a title as well as an address. The address field will automatically add “blogspot.com” to the end of the address you provide.

If the blog URL you put in is already in use, you’ll get a notice saying, “Sorry, this blog address is not available.

Blogger Name
Blogger URL

You might have to be creative with your blog URL until you come across one that isn’t already taken.

When the message “This blog address is available” appears, click Save/Create blog! You also have the option of selecting a theme.

You may go through the selections and pick one, but if you want something more attractive, there are a number of premium Blogger themes to choose from.

For now, it doesn’t matter which theme you choose; you can change it later.

How To Choose a Blogger Theme

By default, your Blogger blog is hosted on a subdomain that looks something like this “Jifunzekidigitali.blogspot.com.

Many bloggers don’t mind having the subdomain blogspot.com connected to their blog URL. Some bloggers want to have their own unique URL. “jifunzekidigitali.com” is an example of a custom domain. Although purchasing a domain directly from Google Domain may appear to be the simplest choice, I do not recommend it.

Blogger Custom Domain

Most web designers, developers, and professional bloggers would advise you to register your custom domain with a third-party registrar such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, or some other domain registrar. The benefit of using a third-party domain registrar is that it will be easy to migrate your blog to another platform and re-direct your domain with minimal downtime if you ever decide to transfer your blog to another platform.

If you want to set up your own custom domain on Blogger, check out our instructions here (How to Setup Custom Domain in Blogger with Namecheap). If you want assistance, please contact me and I will gladly assist you for a small charge.
