The Kilombero Valley Teak Company (KVTC) (www.kvtc-tz.com) in Tanzania is Africa’s largest privately owned teak forest and timber business. KVTC is looking for a suitable Pool Vehicle Driver (PVD) to mainly provide driving services for the head office logistics.

Reporting to: Operations Manager (OM) KVTC
Contract Type: Permanent (Subject to successful completion of 6 months’ probation)
Objective:
To provide secure and timely driving services, including transporting passengers and/or goods, delivering payment transfers to the bank or suppliers, assisting with postage and office purchases, and performing other tasks as required by the Head of Section or their substitutes.
Functions and Duties:
- Transport persons, goods, and documents.
- Provide transportation for KVTC Management, other employees, DPSO office, and visitors from Dar es Salaam.
- Deliver payment transfers to the bank and suppliers, conduct cash purchases, and distribute mail.
- Pick up flight tickets.
- Deliver correspondence to government authorities and assist in processing permits (e.g., airport pass).
- Facilitate airport pickups for visitors and transport during official visits.
- Manage vehicle maintenance.
- Schedule annual vehicle examinations and apply for vehicle license renewals.
- Determine and track vehicle maintenance needs, especially tire conditions.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and prepare vehicles for safaris.
- Ensure the vehicles run smoothly and arrange minor repairs.
- Check oil and tires regularly and keep vehicles clean inside and outside.
- Track and renew car insurance.
- Update monthly mileage records and maintain logbooks for service vehicles.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Driver for at least 10 years.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of area roads and Dar Es Salaam.
- Availability for occasional weekend and night shifts.
- A polite and professional disposition.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., rush hour).
- A form four or high school diploma.
- Fluent in both English and Swahili.
- Residency in Mavimba.
